Due to the retirement of our current chairman we require someone to take the lead to help in maintaining the running of our hall. No previous experience is necessary, just an enthusiastic, motivated person who wants to contribute to village life and help keep this well used facility running smoothly. We have a committee of volunteers that meets once per month for about 1 hour
Although we have a paid manager, the committee is purely voluntary and shapes the direction that we go in, agrees on our spending strategy and ensures Health & Safety matters.

As you may know, the sole purpose of the Hall is to provide facilities for the benefit of the local community. It is run by a committee of unpaid volunteers, along with a manager, and is financed entirely by the income generated from its users. It is operated independently and receives no day to day financial support from anyone. The Committee, which currently has only six members, meets on the first Tuesday of the month for about an hour to discuss the running and operation of the Hall. We are responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the hall and the carpark, buying new equipment to keep the hall up to date, and for setting the hire charges for our users. We also organise our fund-raising and other activities, social nights, Beer Festival, talks, barn dances etc.
The large hall, approximately 180 sq/m with a capacity for 180 people, has a fully functional stage with curtains. The small hall is approximately 86 sq/m with a capacity for 86 people. Both halls have large, fully functioning kitchens with facilities including fridge/freezer, kettles, microwaves, some crockery and cutlery. The kitchens have plenty of work surface and large hatches to each hall. Ideal if you bring food or have catering needs. There is free Internet. We have any amount of chairs, some with arm rests for those in need, and easily collapsable tables. There is a defibrillator available should it be needed. There is easy disabled access and exit as well as a disabled toilet and baby changing facilities. We have a CD player, should you wish to bring music along and public speaking microphone, and we don't charge for the electricity you use. Bar facilities can be arranged by prior agreement. The stage curtains are fireproofed and there are ample, signed, fire exits. Each hall is heated separately and controlled automatically with a modern Hive system. There is also free parking at the rear of the premises.
